What on earth do I drive

I am the owner of a yellow 2008 VW New Beetle. This is my first car and its a blast of a car. Its powered by a 2.5L inline 5 engine that I think is awesome! This engine is paired with a 5 speed manual that is engaging to drive and has a wacky reverse gear. Who in their right mind puts it next to first gear? VW of couse! Gotta love that german engineering that gives us such highlights as SPRINGS being used to hold in your headlights! (These cars are plagued with headlight issues). Anyway, got this thing both as transportation and as a way to learn how to work on cars.

What on earth did I do to that poor thing

First thing I did to this car was get the thing safetied lol. New license plate light and a new tire was all that safety demanded ^o^. Following this I got its heater core replaced since I want to survive the winter lol. Even with that repair these cars are known to be kinda cold.

CB Radio

Outside the initial repairs, for my first true project I decided to do something non invasive to my car (something I could take out completely without any lasting effect on the car). I ended up installing a Citizens Band Radio/PA sytem. My radio of choice was a Uniden PC68LTX paired with a Wilson 305-38 magnetic quarter wave Antenna. I Routed the wire through the back hatch, down the drive side b pillar across the floor, up between the door and dash and then too the radio. To keep the radio affixed but removable I used some adhesive hook and loop fasteners and stuck it to the center of a dash (but not blocking the view of the road lol) The radio is powered through my 12V cigeret lighter port
